Hi one and all, hope you're all keeping warm, dry and cosy as the autumn is well underway now - we've got very few leaves left on the tree in our garden and my OH has been having a right old grumble as every time he's gone out and raked them up, more have fallen before he gets his jacket off! Like I tell him... it's only nature's confetti!!! Aaaannnndddd.... we had snow last week - eeeek!!!!
Anyhow, I thought you might like to see the card I made for my Mam's birthday last week and I got to play with one of my new 'gadgets' although officially I shouldn't be allowed to as it's my birthday and Christmas present from my family, but these things have to be tested to make certain they work properly (my excuse and I'm sticking to it - lol!)
Oh in case you're wondering where the Wellington comes in.... he's the rather adorable bear carrying the gift!!!
Base is ?raspberry? coloured pearlescent cardstock from my stash, easel card/gold satin mat and decoupage base layer were all cut with an EK Success Circle Cutter then 'prettied' up with Cheery Lynn die cut doilies. I printed the Wellington decoupage from CD and quite liked the idea of his paw jutting out from the base design to break up the 'roundness' - what do you think? The little roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts (gorgeous flowers/goodies - well worth a look at their website) and the gold metallic ribbon hand tied into a double bow again from my stash. Nearly forgot to mention the 'distressed' heat embossing around the edges!!!
The sentiment is done using my new 'gadget'.... hot foil stamped with Daisy (my shiny new Craft Dragon - purple of course!) and then die cut with Spellbinders Fancy Framed Tags One - worked out well didn't it!
Righto, am now off to make something to eat before I settle down to watch the 'soaps' on TV! Oh yes, this is also the card I'm entering into a friendly challenge that ends today!
'Til next time take care and keep warm
