Hi everyone, don't worry I'm not talking about the weather - lol! I thought you might like to see my creation using 'Sunny', one of Heather Valentin's lovely 'Flowerpot Pretties' digi stamps.
I coloured Sunny using Spectrum Noir Pens, die cut her and then added a softly inked edge to the image with the die still in place and making this diffused edge slightly deeper at the bottom so as to 'ground' the image without adding any further colours. The same shape was cut (Spellbinders Adorning Squares) using green pearlescent paper from my stash and twisted around as a base mat, I wasn't too keen on being able to see through the 'lacy' edges of the image to the background layer - it looked a little untidy - so cut a further layer using the pearlescent paper just using the outer edge die so I didn't have the intricate details, then glued this layer on the back of the coloured image, now you see the lovely detail of the image and die without being distracted by looking thro' to the back layer!
The white base card is 8" square, matted with the same pearlescent green as for the die cut mats, the top layer is Ivory Centura Pearl card embossed with Grande Dots Embossalicious (8") folder. The sunflowers were die cut using Die'sire 'Stamen' and both large and small 'Sunflower' dies, quilled and when dry 'Nut Brown' Flowersoft/ black microfine glitter was added to their centres, which I think has worked quite well. The 'Victorian Romance Flourish' by Cheery Lynn was cut in half and placed under the sunflowers to represent leaves.
Now for a confession..... I've never seen an actual sunflower.... so if my representation is way off the mark, then I apologise profusely!
Hoping 'Sunny' adds a little brightness to your day and I'd like to enter her into the following:-
