Men!!!!!

Strange title for this post but all will become apparent..... yesterday was my good mate's birthday and so I had entrusted my OH to post her card so it would arrive on 'the day'  (as I had to take my mam to hospital unexpectedly!)  so off he went with her card in his hand.... did he post it?.... did he post it?.... no he did not and left it in his son's car who was at work and so I couldn't retrieve it until too late in the day to entrust to Royal Mail to do their bit!   Grrrrrrr!  Needless to say an e-mail was sent to my friend with my apologies and  the card has now been delivered (only one day late) so Royal Mail at least got their bit right.  Okay, rant over and lesson learned.... don't trust my OH to post important mailings!

Okay the card, and it's the first I've made for a good while so am hoping it's the beginnings of an increased mojo as I really do feel 'out of sorts' when not crafting - may sound a bit silly to some but any crafter will understand what I mean!

A Handbag.... isn't that a famous line from 'The Importance of Being Earnest'?  lol!

Using my fav Centura Pearl cardstock I printed the main base from Katy Sue Designs' Fabulous Fashion' CD, the decorative panel is also from this CD but I tweaked it to get it the right size for the design and using my fantastic (not!) PC skills I also colour matched the colour of the handle to the stripe in the main design and again printed onto CP card.  The bow is another of the 'fashion' papers from the CD, again with a little 'tweaking' to make the design the size I wanted and I used the same design for the card insert using Serif Craft Artist to fade the design and also add a softly edged oval in the centre so I could add an appropriate verse - you can't see this on the pic but believe me it's there!  Finishing touches were faux stitching all around the relevant areas using a Sakura Glitter Pen and the large brad in the centre of the bow with a rub on sentiment that reads 'Birthday'.  Everything was cut by hand (next one will be cut on my Cameo).  All in all, it just goes to show that even the simplest of cards can have a fair bit of 'work' involved.  I say 'work' but you crafters out there know what I mean.  Hope you like my efforts, I'd love to hear from you if you have any comment to make.

All for now, 'til next time take care and hopefully enjoy some sunshine

Popping by to say "Hello"

Hi everyone, sorry I've been AWOL from my blog for a while - things have been a bit 'difficult' one way and another.... but fingers crossed they're now 'on the up' and I can get back to doing what I love best..... crafting in all shapes and forms!

I've not been totally 'un-creative' (is that a word?) during my absence so I'll try to get some pics of what I've been up to posted very soon.  Until then, take care and hopefully the lovely sunshine we had today will continue for a while to come.

Crafty hugs
