Same image... different colours!

Hi there, thought you might like to see this one too using the same gorgeous Norma J Burnell stamp as my previous card but in totally different colours!

This one's an A5 card base, background paper is printed from Crafter's Companion new CD 'Sugar & Spice' with the other papers from my stash.  Again the fabulous image (Mid Summer Dragonflies) is hand stamped and then coloured using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and pencils on Neenah card (Crafters Companion); I again highlighted the dragonflies' wings using a Sakura clear glitter gel pen.  The sentiment is the same as the previous card (Lilliput wooden sentiment from Scribble and Scrap - http://www.scribbleandscrap.co.uk/) but this time triple embossed using Blonde Moments Savoury Sky and a 'top coat' of Moon Glow Hyacinth Blue Jade embossing powders from my stash.  Card Candi (Craftwork Cards) added at the bottom corner for balance.  Again I hope you like her....

I love using stamps as you can always vary the effect simply by changing the colours you use!  Plus you can 'lose' yourself in the colouring in which is a real 'stress buster'!  Whoops... nearly forgot the lovely dragonfly embossing folder (jade paper) is from Craft Concepts.

Okay so that's two posts in two days, must be some kind of record for me.... lol!  I think I'll pop along and add this one to Scribble and Scrap's Challenge too... you can find it here:-  http://scribbleandscrapcrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2014/11/challenge-32-always-anything-goes.html

See you soon

Ooops!

Hi one and all, sorry I hadn't realised just how long it is since I posted (note to self - "Must be a 'proper' blogger in future!").

Anyhow one way and another here we are with only a few weeks until Christmas... really I don't know where the time has gone!  However, as yet and the fact that I've only just begun to make my Christmas cards, here's a card I made for a friend's recent birthday, although I must admit that I was a little late in sending it and it arrived the day after her actual birthday (Oooh I feel another note to myself coming on.... doh!)

I'm just beginning to get into the habit of  colouring with  my alcohol pens (Spectrum Noir) and still finding my way with them but was quite pleased with the results for this one.  I added a bit of definition with my new Spectrum Noir Pencils too... I hadn't believed the difference adding these can actually make but have to say seeing the 'before' and 'after' I was really pleased that I did try them out.

The card is 8"x8" square with various mats using printed and foiled papers from my stash.  I've handstamped Norma J Burnell's gorgeous image 'Mid Summer Dragonflies' from Sweet Pea Stamps available at 'Scribble and Scrap.co.uk' (http://www.scribbleandscrap.co.uk/) - I confess I'm slightly 'addicted' to this artist's stamps and am adding more to my collection whenever possible!  The coloured image was then cut out using Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight and again mounted on a handcut mat of the same foiled card as used with the decorative background papers.  The greeting is a 'Lillibet' Wooden Sentiment (again from Scribble and Scrap) which I triple embossed using Cosmic Shimmer 'Amethyst Mist Lustre' with a top coat of Moon Glow 'Imperial Crown Purple Gold' powders from my stash.  Nearly forgot to mention that I glazed the dragonflies' wings with the clear Sakura Glitter Gel pen, shame you can't see the effect on the picture, anyhow I hope you like her....

As it's been a while since I showed anything that I've made, I'm going to enter this card into the Scribble and Scrap Challenge (http://scribbleandscrapcrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2014/11/challenge-32-always-anything-goes.html) which is well worth a look!

Until next time, stay safe and warm
