Oh dear, my 'self promise' to try to post at least weekly has gone totally askew... seriously I didn't realise it had been so long!! Life has been a bit 'full on' this year with various 'happenings' and not too many good things, but I won't dwell on those... much better to focus on the niceties!!
Have just returned from a glorious two day crafting/arty adventure with my friend Anne, we finally managed to book ourselves onto the ClarityStamp Retreat as extra dates were added this year due to its popularity. We spent two whole days totally engrossed in inking, stamping, stencilling, trying new things and picking up lots of helpful information the atmosphere was amazing, full of humour and oh boy do some people have 'dirty' laughs!!! It was all good humoured and the thirty or so crafters all got on so well; most projects went very well but there was the odd one or two that didn't go quite according to plan - one of mine included, but that's how you learn. Barbara Gray and her 'glamorous assistant' Paul Church were superb mentors, such patience and wonderful senses of humour... Anne and I are already looking forward to going again next year.... the 300+ mile drive was definitely worthwhile plus Anne had found us a fab B&B within walking distance of the venue so we're hoping to stay there again too!
Anyhow, here are examples of what I achieved culminating in the goose canvas which was totally out of my comfort zone but using techniques and materials (gelli plate; brayering, acrylic paints etc) I can't wait to put into action again. We also began a gorgeous Groovi (parchment system) project which didn't get quite finished as it takes time to do the embossing and such like properly so I still have this one to work on!
Hope you like what you see... I had lots of fun making them!!!
